...here is our Spray photo submission for the 2009 prize. Note not only the fabulous spray but also the ambiance of sunset, Rose champagne and a contented man smoking a cigar.

Torie,
We've noticed a couple of things while reading the guest comment book. There are many repeat visitors, and everybody is intrigued about the crashing waves, how to predict the next big one and how to take the most awesome photo of it. The funny contradiction about the wave watching is that we come here to chill out, but Type A personalities are completely challenged by the wave crashes.
So we have a suggestion. You should launch a competition with two objectives:
(i) The best photograph of the spray
(ii) The best essay which explains the big one. Scientific rigor should be paramount,
although a little humor should also be encouraged.
The competition could be open for the next 12 months. Renters should be encouraged to make submissions. (Perhaps the rental contract should include it.) You and Tim should be the exclusive judges. The winners could have their winning entries framed and hung on the wall at Bliss, perhaps with a small brass plaque of acknowledgement!
After one year, perhaps the challenge could keep going, and it would be your discretion whether or not to announce a new winner.
A couple of added benefits. It may encourage teenagers to get off the internet, leave the loft and get out in the sun. Reference to the challenge on your web-site would help to promote Bliss as a wonderful place to visit.
This idea was conceived under the affluence of incohol during our sunset happy hour. I'm sure that you and your other guests could improve on it further!
Take care,
Debby and Jeremy
